Q Fund Founder
Q Fund founder Chellie Kew is a firm believer in the philosophy that
all humans are one people. A “global citizen” who has lived and
traveled all over the world, Kew is also a lifelong photojournalist.
While living in South Africa in 1997, she came face-to-face with the
plight of millions of orphaned African children. She used the lens of
her camera to recount their courageous and heartrending story in her
book, African Journal: A Child's Continent—the inspiring narrative of how these children taught her the true meaning of love.
Kew’s
keen ability to assess the long-term needs of these children led her to
establish The Q Fund in 2000. Her non-profit organization has since
supported numerous projects in Africa and Asia, including the
construction of the Chimoza Community School in Ndola, Zambia and the
Ngererit School in Kenya. In 2007, the lives of over 40,000 people were
positively impacted by Q Fund programs.
