YUM Foundation Receives Award for Noble Work

In July 2006, The Children's Village, which provides care, education, and accommodation for 48 children, was selected by the Indonesian Department of Social Services from among 102 orphanages to be the Cianjur Regency nominee in a West Java award competition. This award is given out once every five years and is called "The Best Orphanage Management Award." It is granted only to orphanages with an outstanding reputation for quality care for orphans and children in need, and excellent management of the facilities and programs. In August 2006, after an inspection visit to YUM's Aceh Community Center, the Japan National Council for Social Welfare (JNCSW) doubled the amount of its support with a grant of US $91,000.
